  • The post holder undertakes a wide range of duties within the Warehouse area, including order assembly, goods receipt, stock management and maintenance of appropriate records.
  • The work is carried out according to standard operating procedures designed to comply with the principles of current Good Distribution Practice (cGDP) for pharmaceutical products.

  • Reports to the Section Head any quality deviation found while carrying out their duties.
  • Assists with the completion of corrective and preventive actions arising from QIRs and QERs within agreed time frames.
  • Assists with remedial actions within the section arising from regulatory inspections (Medicines and Health Care Products Regulatory Agency [MHRA]), and from internal audits, within the specified time scales.
  • Complies with Health and Safety and COSHH regulations within the section.
  • Assists with maintaining Warehouse equipment to the required standards.
  • Works in a clean and tidy manner.

Located in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire; Huddersfield Pharmacy Specials is hosted by Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust. Our mission is to provide professional and affordable specials throughout the UK to both Primary and Secondary Care.We are seeking an individual to work primarily in the warehouse department. The post will involve the successful candidate working in the dispatch team, to ensure parcels are packed and dispatched on time. Good attention to detail is vital as well as the ability to remain calm under pressure. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, self-motivated and must be able to work to strict written procedures.

The post is full time and the successful candidate must be available to work between 0830am and 1630pm, Monday to Friday.

  • Uses mechanical handling equipment as necessary to move heavy goods around the stores area.
  • Must follow manual handling guidelines when moving goods.
  • Allocates goods to customer orders through the HPS computer system and produces the appropriate despatch documentation.
  • Selects goods required for customer orders.
  • Accurately selects goods required to fulfil internal orders required by the manufacturing sections.
  • Carries out second checks on computer issues and on orders assembled by others.
  • Packs goods for safe despatch to customers by courier or via the regional delivery van, including controlled drugs.
  • Ensures that wherever possible the shortest dated goods are issued for use first, enabling efficient stock rotation.
  • Brings any stock discrepancies to the attention of the line manager in order that the error can be investigated and corrected.
  • Carries out physical stock checks as part of the rolling stock check programme.
  • Receives and signs for incoming goods delivered to the Pharmacy loading bay.
  • Removes rubbish, pharmaceutical, clinical and other waste to designated sites within Huddersfield Pharmacy Specials.
  • Deals with small scale spillages according to the departmental spillage procedure.
  • Locates products from the manufacturing sections in the bond store and completes relevant batch manufacturing records.
  • Releases and books in goods after being passed by Quality Control.
  • Assists with the training of new members of staff.
  • Assists with maintenance of the customer records database.
  • Participates in the Appraisal process
