About the Trust

At South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust we provide the widest range of NHS mental health services in the UK. We also provide substance misuse services for people who are addicted to drugs and alcohol. Our staff serve a local population of nearly two million people. We have more than 230 services including inpatient wards, outpatient, and community services. We provide inpatient care for over 5,000 people each year and we treat more than 45,000 patients in the community in Lambeth, Southwark, Lewisham, and Croydon. As well as serving the communities of south London, we provide more than 50 specialist services for children and adults across the UK and beyond.

What you’ll be responsible for:

· Assist staff with basic IT issues as and when required.

· Downloads letters from Dict8 system to format accurately and send to the various departments. General administrative tasks requested to complete by the staff in the team sending out appointment letters to clients for the team.

· Reception covers for reception area which requires excellent interpersonal skills in order to work with staff and visitors.

· Good message taking and accurate emails sent to staff as required must be mindful of confidentiality at all times.

· Work on own initiative within part of a team. Must be willing to complete task at short notice to deadlines.

· Attend morning meetings and update client records as required. Assist with health and safety gathering and updating.

You’ll learn the following whilst working at the trust:

1. An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS

2. Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times

3. A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation

You’ll have the following skills/experience:

· Excellent communication skills- both verbal and written

· Microsoft office skills- Outlook, Word, and Excel

· Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure

· Previous admin experience

· Previous NHS experience

· System Knowledge- EPJS, Dict8 and Eproc (desirable)

This role may require you to show evidence of vocational level 3 qualification or at least 2 years administration experience.
